Sunday funday

Cavalia

For Nonna's birthday we went and saw Cavalia. Turns out Nonna couldn't make it-she's cruising the Panama Canal. But we still had fun! We were in the front row in the center of the stage. The horses were literally within reach and my two little girls were awestruck. And in hysterics when we got splashed at the end. I snuck the pics right as the show was ending. I wasn't going to be the person who made someone die with my flash going off. 

After the show we visited with friends, Elizabeth and Monica. Elizabeth is 9. And has a swing in her living room so she basically can walk on water in maddie's eyes. 

Saturday morning

Allie and I were snuggled in bed, sleeping in a bit this morning. I could hear drawers opening, silverware rattling, the sounds of life in the kitchen. I'm fine with Maddie preparing herself something to eat. It buys me a few more moments of laziness. But then she came in and whispered "mama, your breakfast is ready." I said, "really? Ok."

When I walked out my heart burst into a million pieces. True she has been itching to cook lately, but this time she prepared breakfast for us all. Setting the table, full glasses of water, silverware on napkins, and a scrambled egg and fruit breakfast with "ketchup on the side". 

Somehow I won the lottery and ended up with the sweetest little girl on earth.

Chef Madeline

Maddie has been very into cooking lately. She checked out two cookbooks from the library. This morning she woke me up with big plans for breakfast, a baked pancake. She literally did everything but turn on the oven, put the pan in the oven and take it back out. I am so impressed! Good work Mads. And extra good work since your very picky sister ate her whole plate.
