Seafair Sunday

We started off the day by going to Empire Espresso, Sonja's place of employment, to get coffee for Kip and hot chocolate for Maddie. Maddie kept exclaiming, "there's Sonja!" as if she had no idea that Sonja was there working and was totally surprised that we just happened to run into her. It was especially funny when Sonja would move to a new station and Maddie would spot her and, oh my gosh, "there's Sonja AGAIN!"

Allie was interested only in climbing on the tables.

Chris had to work Seafair this year but that meant free all access passes for us. Honestly, in all of the years we've done Seafair I have NEVER gone down to the pits. It was a blast. We thought we'd only spend an hour or so down there but ended up staying for almost five.

Madeline was star struck when she saw Cranky the Crane (think Thomas) lifting boats out of the water.

We ran into an amazing amount of people we knew down there. It was quite fun. Chris' friend, Steven Oberto got us into the Oberto tent for lunch. The veggies of the family had some pretty awesome bread and "squishys" (slurpees).

After lunch Paranoid Paula wanted earplugs in case those sneaky blue angels decided to make an appearance.

And Kip joined the Navy Seals. Right along with this Seattle Police Officer. Maddie cheered them on.

Unfortunately for us Kip's geriatric by their standards so we'll just have to stick with good ol' Boeing.

OMG YOU KNOW AN OBERTO!!!!???? I DIE. Get us salami and pep sticks to send to the Virginians! They don't have Oberto in Va, the sad sacks. And that crane thing is pretty awesome.

Looks like a fun day! I almost miss not hearing the loud roars of the blue angels over head. And, yes, the crane thingy did look pretty cool.
