That's what she said

Maddie LOVES to get school lunches so we've decided that once per month she gets to buy a lunch.  Today, after our Santa pictures she got her school lunch.

After I picked her up from school and we were talking about her day for awhile I asked her what she had for lunch.

Maddie:  I had chocolate milk, french fries, oranges and cauliflower.
Me: That's an interesting lunch...

And then we drive for about 5 minutes

Maddie: Oh! And I had a burger.
Me:  A burger??
Maddie:  Yeah, it was a brown tofu burger.

haha joke's on you Mads, prolly NOT tofu. Isn't it funny how kids worship the school lunch? The boys DIED to be allowed to buy hot lunch, then hardly ate any of it. I think they just love to stand in the line and get the tray. Goofballs.

Oh hot lunch...we were allowed five per month. Those were the best five days...that green lunch chip made me feel like the coolest kid in all the school. Was it really a tofu burger? Or is Mads no longer a meat virgin?

So here is the clarification on the tofu burger. Lis was convinced it was meat. She talked with Maddie's teacher yesterday and found out that they only serve garden burgers at school because of all the kids that are Muslim. Maddie is still a meat virgin!

Love it. And I totally get it. Hot lunch is amazing... I was so sad when we switched to a school without a cafeteria.
