Tubby

I don't know why I haven't figured this out a little sooner: If I need a break I should ask the girls if they want a tubby. They LOVE to take baths.  And I can pull out my camera, sit on the toilet, and mostly not have to referee.

I have never noticed that she has the ability to lift one eyebrow.  I am totally jealous.

Sense the need for a referee soon?

I told Allie to get her back

Squeaky clean and ready for a fresh layer of Crayola.  This kid LOVES to draw on her body.

And Maddie loves to have her picture taken.  We're still working on the "natural" smile.

WE.ARE.BACK!!

I had a rough week technologically speaking...My phone shattered, my headset for work broke, and my laptop bit the dust.  We're now back in business.  I got a new phone (and Kip is now a (gasp!!) iPhone user), headset is fixed, and I have my laptop back (albeit completely wiped clean of every single one of it's contents)

Maddie started pre-k this year.  It's Monday through Thursday from 9:15-3:15.  I thought I'd freak.  I thought she'd freak.  We both love it.  We continued a Davis tradition and made egg salad sandwiches for the first day of school.  And lucky Zaide got to drop her off for her first day of school!

We've been spending a lot of time at the lake.  Unfortunately given today's weather I think that's a thing of the past.  Maddie loves picnics so we had a few boat dinner picnics and dock picnics. Heaven for both girls.

I couldn't decide which picture I liked better.  Since I haven't posted in 2 weeks I'll just put them both up.  Her eyes are AMAZING.

Anytime Allie sees a plane she announces "Boo Angel" and covers her ears.

Maddie continues to love the boat.  I can always guarantee a real smile when we're out on the water.

And when I have Kip trapped in a small, confined space I make him take my picture.

And I force him to take pictures with me.

He's extra happy now that he and Chris installed a new stereo.  We blasted some rap yo to accompany our dinner.

It only took three months but this girl finally walked on the lake bottom.

Neighborhood basketball games make me happy. Just to watch. No one wants me on their team.

Bossing dogs around makes Maddie happy.

Handing out a lot of kisses makes Allie happy.

And buying these two flowers every Saturday makes Nonna happy.

Yay! So happy to have a computer again!!

Labor Day Weekend

We got to spend our Labor day weekend in the San Juan Islands on Decatur Island with friends.  It was so relaxing, so much fun, and Maddie is already trying to weasel another invite to go back.
Rudder got to spend the weekend on Whidbey with my dad which meant we got to take the ferry.  We brought along popcorn for the seagulls but apparently the pickings are not slim in the summer and dry popcorn isn't too thrilling.

Our one brief visitor. 100% no interest in our popcorn.

My dad generously let us continue the rest of our journey in his airplane.  Maddie was a little nervous getting into the plane and Allie announced "JUST RELAX MA-YAY."  It was hilarious.

And relax she did.  She didn't shut up the entire flight over.  Shouldn't have told her she could talk with the headset on.

We landed at a small grass strip on Decatur and then headed straight for the beach.

Where Maddie stayed dry for about 2.5 seconds.

Sunday morning we were greeted by a a few deer.  They were adorable.

My new camera is super fast...it actually caught these two girls not wiggling around.  They didn't quite get the concept of moving slowly around the deer.

The boys were old pros at it though.

And then we headed back down to the beach where Allie stayed in her PJs all day long and cried anytime there was sand on her feet.  The beach was sandy.

These two explored every nook and cranny on the beach for crabs, seaweed and washed ashore jelly fish.

And then Maddie wanted to go kayaking.

Moments after that picture there was panic.  Maddie crying, "I can't do it" and Kip screaming at her to "just relax" (I don't know about you but I can really get into my zen moment when people are screaming at me to relax)

But Camden rescued her and then Kip took her out for a paddling lesson.

Her two favorite parts of the trip:  Feeding the deer and going to the blakely island marina for a giant ice cream cone.  There's no pics of the ice cream because I was too busy stealing bites of it from her.

Thank you Dembowski Clan for an awesome time!
